For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will engage eighth grade students of the Government Public School in Kalaburagi, Kalaburagi district, in making an illustrated book titled Makkala Gombe Rama (A Children’s Puppetry Picture Book) using the leather puppetry style of painting. The project aims to develop imaginative and artistic skills among students through the exploration of drawings and its applications to their language and social science curriculum. The outcomes of the project will be an exhibition, performance and a publication. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the publication and photographs and video documentation of the entire project including the exhibition. Project funds will pay for contract fees, materials, exhibition, publication, documentation and travel.

The project aims to develop imaginative and artistic skills among students through the exploration of drawings and its applications to their language and social science curriculum. The outcomes of the project will be an exhibition and a publication. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the publication and photographs and video documentation of the entire project including the exhibition. Project funds will pay for workshop, travel, exhibition, publication, stationery and materials, contract fees, and documentation.

Grant Period: One year and six months

For an engagement with eighth grade students of the Government Higher Primary School in Kalaburagi to study the paintings, architecture and administration of the Bahmani Sultanate in connection with their social science syllabus. Students will be involved in workshops on line drawing, Urdu calligraphy, and creative writing on the history of the Bahmani Sultanate. The outcome will be a compilation of artworks by students in the form of a book. The Grantee’s deliverables to IFA with the final reports will be still and video documentation of the entire project and an art book. Grant funds will pay for an honorarium, professional fees, material costs, performance costs, publication costs, exhibition costs, travel costs, and an accountant’s fee.

Grant Period: One year

For a wide-ranging engagement with students from grades one to five of the Government High School in Pethsirur, Chitapur Taluk, Kalaburgi District. These children will be introduced to the cultivation process of tuver dal and will trace its journey from ‘seed to market’ under the project titled Togariya Kanaja Kalaburgi (‘Tuver Dal Warehouse of Kalaburgi’). This year-long project will include a series of workshops that will see students visiting farmlands at the various stages of cultivation and illustrating their experiences through drawings and stories. The outcome will be an exhibition. The Grantee’s deliverables to IFA with the Final Report will be audio-visual documentation of the workshops, images, and a 10-12 minute video documentation. Grants funds will pay for costs towards an honorarium, documentation, material, travel, stationery, a closing ceremony, and an accountant’s fee.

For a series of workshops to develop literary arts practices among eighth grade students enabling them to document their personal narratives as monologues – Swagatagalu. The outcome of this grant will be a publication. The Grantee's deliverables to IFA with the Final Report will include photographs from the workshops and the publication. Grant funds will pay for publications costs, honorarium, workshops costs, professional fees, documentation costs, refreshment costs, and an accountant’s fee.
