For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will engage 35 students of Government Lower Primary School, Doniyavara Thota, Metagudda village in Mudhol taluk, Bagalkot district. Titled Bete Nayigala Kote Mudhol (Mudhol: The Fort of Dogs), this 15 month initiative aims to nurture observation, curiosity, expression, and creative connections through the cultural and ecological lens of the Mudhol hound. By integrating Environmental Science, Mathematics, and Kannada with creative writing, sculpture, mural-making, and community documentation, the project positions the dog as a central figure of inquiry and imagination. The outcome of this project will be an exhibition. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be copies of the photographs and the video documentation of the entire project. Project funds will pay for contract fees, workshop, material, travelling and living, exhibition, printing and documentation.
For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will engage eight grade students of the Government High School, Guledagudda in Badami taluk, Bagalkot district. Titled Samayada Elegalu, this 15-month project weaves together the century-old architectural heritage of the school building with the living stories and sensory designs of the local weaving community. Through interdisciplinary exploration involving history, science, social studies, and art, students engage with the deeper meanings embedded in handwoven textiles, nearby ecosystems, tools, and the daily rituals of making. The outcome of this project will be an exhibition and a publication. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be copies of the publication, photographs, and the video documentation of the entire project. Project funds will pay for material and stationary, travelling and living, contract fees, exhibition, and publication.
For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will engage eighth grade students at the Government Girls Pre-University College, High School Section, in Guledgudda, Bagalkot district in a project titled Maggada Maatu (Voices of the Loom). It will document the process of making and issues related to Ilkal sarees from the region, by connecting them to their curriculum in language and science. Through this project students will become community researchers recording the legacy of their local handloom industry. The outcomes of the project will be an exhibition and a publication. For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will engage eighth grade students at the Government Girls Pre-University College, High School Section in Badami, Bagalkot district in a project titled Kappe Arabhatta Yaaru? (Who is Kappe Arabhatta?). The project will document and critically examine stone inscriptions in and around the region with a special focus on Kappe Arabhatta, an 8th century Chalukya warrior mentioned in the inscriptions. Through this project students will become researchers recording their local history and enrich their study of social science, and Kannada language curriculum. The outcomes of the project will be a performance and a publication. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the publication and photographs and video documentation of the entire project including the performance. Project funds will pay for printing, workshop, travel performance, contract fees, stationery and documentation.
For a series of arts-based exploratory learning modules at the Kasturba Girls Residential School, Kadampur, Bagalkot district. The project will involve sixth to eighth grade students in various visual arts, story-telling, street plays and theatre integrated activities centred on the lives of people from villages submerged during the construction of dams across the river Krishna in the district. The outcome of this project will be a series of performances and radio-plays. The Grantee’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be still and video documentation of the project and digital copies of the radio-plays. Grant funds will pay for honorarium, performance and exhibition, travel, professional fees, printing documentation, material and an accountant’s fee.
