Navtej S Johar

Navtej Singh Johar is a dancer and choreographer, scholar, a yoga exponent, and an urban activist.  A recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Contemporary Choreography in 2014, his work—within all fields of his varied interests—remains consistently body-centric.

Alok Rai

Alok Rai was born into a family that gave him - "well before the age of consent" - a certain engagement with matters of language and culture, with literature. He received his early education in Allahabad which, he insists, gives him a kind of privileged vernacular access. He attended the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar and University College, London as a Commonwealth Fellow. His PhD on George Orwell, Orwell and the Politics of Despair, was published in 1990.

Arti Kirloskar

Arti Kirloskar is a trustee of Kirloskar Foundation, which works in the field of hygiene education and supporting education of underprivileged children.

She is the Convenor of Kirloskar Vasundhara film festival, an environment film festival being run in Pune and 20 other cities for more than 10 years.  Arti was the past Convenor of, and current Patron of the Intach Pune chapter, which works to conserve and protect our heritage.

Arti is an artist and has recently showed her work along with seven other artists from Pune at the Kochi Biennale 2016. 

Vivek Shanbhag

Vivek Shanbhag is a writer who has published five short story collections, three novels and two plays in Kannada.

From 2005 to 2012, he published and edited the literary journal Desha Kaala.

Vivek’s works are translated into many other Indian languages, and have appeared in Granta, Seminar, Indian Literature and Out of Print. He was a Fall 2016 resident at the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa.

Pramit Jhaveri

Pramit Jhaveri is the CEO of Citi India. Prior to this, he was the Head of Global Banking and Vice Chairman of Asia Investment Banking, responsible for Citi’s Global Banking business in India.

Pramit is a member of Citi’s Asia Pacific Executive Committee, and on the Managing Committee of the Indian Banks Association.

He is also on the Executive Board of the Indian School of Business and on the Advisory Committee of Habitat for Humanity, American India Foundation, and Catalyst India.

Sajan Poovayya

Sajan Poovayya is founding partner at the law firm Poovayya & Co. He was named one of Asia's leading attorneys in the areas of media, telecommunication, and technology.

Prior to this, Sajan practiced law in India and in England as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

He is a fellow at the Society for Advanced Legal Studies, London. 

Shubha Mudgal

Shubha is an acclaimed musician and versatile performer trained by the eminent scholar-musician-composer Pandit Ramashreya Jha ‘Ramrang’; Pandit Vinaya Chandra Maudgalya and Pandit Vasant Thakar; Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki; Pandit Kumar Gandharva and Naina Devi.

A former member of the Central Advisory Board of Education constituted by the Government of India, Shubha has been closely involved with several projects related to music education in India. 

She received the Padma Shri in 2000, apart from several other prestigious awards.

Ashoke Chatterjee

Ashoke served as Executive Director, Senior Faculty, Distinguished Fellow and Professor of Communication and Management at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad.

He has a background in the engineering industry, international civil service, tourism development and has served on a range of development institutions in India and overseas, particularly in the sectors of drinking water, sanitation, disability, livelihoods and education in different parts of the country.

An author and writer, his books include Dances of the Golden Hall and Rising.

Ishaat Hussain

Ishaat Hussain graduated in economics from St Stephens College, New Delhi and is a fellow at the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA) in England and Wales.

He joined the board of Tata Sons as executive director in July 1999 and holds several key positions in other companies within the Tata group. Prior to joining Tata Sons, Hussain was senior vice president and executive director of finance at Tata Steel for almost 10 years. 

Hussain is a member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) committees on insider trading and primary capital markets. 

Sheba Chhachhi

Sheba Chhachhi is an installation artist, photographer, activist, and writer based in New Delhi. Chhachhi was born in Harar, Ethiopia in 1958 and studied at the University of Delhi and National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

Her installations address an ongoing concern with women, visual cultures, urban ecologies, memory, violence, the question of personal/political transformation, and the play between the mythic and social.
