Menaka Rodriguez has over 12 years of experience in marketing, business development and fundraising for a range of arts organisations including museums, arts festivals, art councils and a theatre company in the United States and India. She has been with IFA for the past 10 years, and currently Heads the Resource Mobilisation and Outreach initiatives at India Foundation for the Arts (IFA).
Menaka is responsible for the growth strategy of the organisation, along with the Executive Director. She has been instrumental in building and developing the Individual Donors initiative at IFA. With expertise in research and reporting writing, she has worked with several cultural institutions and international agencies including INTACH, Vasanth Seth Memorial Foundation, Adam Mickiewicz Institute, Poland, Society for South Asian Studies, United Kingdom, and Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA).
Menaka has taught archaeology and museum studies at the undergraduate level and also curated arts exhibitions. She served as a Co-Facilitator and Mentor on a capacity building programme for theatre practitioners called SMART - Strategic Management for the Art of Theatre, under the aegis of India Theatre Forum.
Menaka has an MA in Archaeology and Indian History from the Deccan College Post Graduate and Research Institute, Pune, India and an MA in Arts Administration from the University of New Orleans, USA. She was an ARThinkSouthAsia (ATSA) Fellow for 2012-13.
Her interests include reading, travelling, jazz, sculpture and the performing arts.
Menaka was awarded ‘Fundraiser of the Year’ by the Resource Alliance India at the India NGO Awards 2016.
