Biswadeep Chakraborty

Archivist

Biswadeep Chakraborty holds a PhD in History from the Department of History, Visva Bharati - Santiniketan. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in History at Presidency University, Kolkata. Additionally, he has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Digital Humanities & Cultural Informatics from Jadavpur University. As an independent researcher, he has presented at various academic conferences and published works on History, Popular Culture, and Digital Humanities.

He was a UGC Project Fellow and later Project Assistant at the School of Cultural Texts and Records, Jadavpur University. He had spent half a decade in the archives of SCTR, Jadavpur University as an archivist digitising, curating, and managing numerous archival collections. He has also been a faculty in the course on Digital Humanities at Jadavpur University, Kolkata — teaching History of Recorded Music in India and Ethics in Preservation of Cultural Heritage.

His hobbies include reading detective and science fiction, watching movies, listening to Hindustani classical music, photography and building PCs. He is also an enthusiast of superhero comics, PC-gaming and a tech-head.
