Job Opening at IFA | Arts Manager | Deadline: July 13, 2025 (CLOSED)

India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) is looking for a part-time Arts Manager for eight months to coordinate and oversee a visual arts project under its Arts Services.

IFA is an independent, nationwide, not-for-profit organisation that makes grants and implements projects across research, practice and education in the arts and culture across India. Set up as a Public Charitable Trust in 1993, IFA started making grants in 1995, and has continued its work over 30 years, supporting and implementing over 900 projects in arts and culture across the country.

The Arts Manager will work closely with the Manager – Institutional Projects. They will be responsible for managing a visual arts project from start to finish that will include an open call and a final showcase over eight months.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting the Manager – Institutional Project in the coordination of a visual arts project and acting as the point of contact between the collaborating entities
  • Overseeing an open call for applications for the project including working with the team on communication and outreach for the call as well as cataloguing of applications and responding to the applicants through a dedicated email address
  • Managing the selection process including communication with the shortlisted applicants and jury members and coordinating jury meetings and final interviews
  • Facilitating communication with the selected candidate, from beginning to end, serving as the key point of contact 
  • Monitoring of the project, ensuring the successful completion of the project by the selected candidate, from signing of the contract to the final deliverables
  • Overseeing the planning and execution of the final showcase with the team
  • Working closely with artists, jurors, curators, and partner institutions to ensure smooth execution of the project 
  • Documenting the processes during the project 
  • Ensuring compliance 
  • Preparing donor reports as per the requirement
  • Managing the administration of the project and reporting to the Manager – Institutional Projects 

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Arts Management, Visual Arts, Cultural Studies, or related field. 
  • Experience with working on arts programmes, artist grants, and/or cultural initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of contemporary visual arts and socially engaged art.
  • Experience in the visual arts and with events is an added bonus
  • Familiarity with digital content management, exhibitions, or curatorial support
  • Strong organisational and budgeting skills; attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel within Karnataka and Maharashtra 
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Experienced in budgeting and project management 
  • Excellent written and oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Self-driven, patient and persistent; dynamic, with both creative sensitivity and administrative acumen.

REMUNERATION: Rs 27,000/- per month. This is a part-time position, on an eight month contract

LOCATION: Bangalore. Remote working with weekly in-person meetings. 

STARTING: August 2025
