IFA celebrates 30 Years of Grants and Projects

We are delighted to share that this year, India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) celebrates 30 years of Grant and Project implementation! We were set up in 1993 as a Public Charitable Trust, and in 1995-96, made our first set of grants.
We are excited to mark this special milestone and acknowledge the journey we have had. Thank you for your support, partnership, collaboration and for being fellow travellers with us over the last three decades!
At its inception, IFA, under the steady hand of Founder-Director Anmol Vellani, sought to fill gaps in arts philanthropy, providing focussed, consistent and strategic assistance. In the years since, we have stayed committed to this initial impulse to build a facilitative space for arts and culture that is connected to the aspirations and needs of the field and places value in creating an inclusive arts ecosystem. This vision has consistently been guided and held by the many people at IFA, that have included Arundhati Ghosh, who became the Executive Director in 2013, followed by Menaka Rodriguez in 2023, who have made it possible along with our passionate and talented teams to respond to changes in the arts landscape, strengthening arts philanthropy in India every day.
We would like to celebrate this year with all those who have nurtured IFA over the years—artists, researchers, experts, institutions, staff, Trustees, partners, donors, the arts community—and all of you, who have participated wholeheartedly in our work.
The journey so far has been incredibly fulfilling and enriching for us, widening our work across regions, languages, disciplines and forms traversing over 950 arts and culture grants and projects thus far!
Join us in a year where we celebrate and mark this milestone and continue to explore new paths ahead, with you.
