For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will engage sixth and seventh grade students of the Government Higher Primary School in Menasagere village, Maddur taluk, Mandya district, with Mudalapaya Yakshagana, a local art form that is rapidly disappearing from the cultural life of the region. The students will learn about the history and practices of this form through a series of sessions conducted by community artists, and apply their learning to texts from their mathematics and language curriculum. The outcome of the project will be a series of performances in the presence of school staff and community members. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will include photographs and video documentation of the entire project. Project funds will pay for contract fees, performance, documentation, material, travel and living, and publicity and marketing.
For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will engage fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students of Government Boys Higher Primary School in Melukote, Mandya district in exploring the flora and fauna of Melukote town through Environmental Theatre techniques, and connecting it to their curriculum in languages, social science, science, and environmental studies. The outcome of this project will be a performance in the school premise. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will include still and video documentation of the process and the performance. Project funds will pay for contract fees, travel and living, workshop, food, materials, performance, documentation, hire of equipment, and printing.
For a series of artistic engagements with sixth and seventh grade students of the Government Higher Primary School, Birashettyhalli, Mandya District, to explore their science curriculum through poetry and the written word. The outcomes will include recitals, installations and a publication.
