Nenapinangaladinda: Down Memory Lane: Project 560,2015

Project 560, 2015 is partnered by Citi India

As part of Project 560, India Foundation for the Arts conducted curated walks that engaged with Bangalore's artistic and cultural spaces. As an extension to this idea of a physical walk, we also organised memory walks into these spaces. Called Nenapinangaladinda / Down Memory Lane, these talks had artists from the city recount stories and reflect on the environment that nurtured the arts in the city.

The first event under this series was held in February 2016, with veteran theatre actor and singer R Paramashivan, who in his presentation interwove songs and stories, reminiscing about Bangalore’s vibrant theatre environment from 1935 up until the 1970s. Our second talk in March 2016, with senior visual artist C F John, Sheela Gowda, Pushpamala N, M S Umesh, Tripura Kashyap, Raghavendra Rao, and Shantamani, revisited the dynamism of the visual arts scene in Bangalore during the 1970s and 80s.

Explore the world of theare, through the decades, in Bangalore with R Paramashivan.

Examine the history of visual and installation art in Bangalore with artists
